Welcome to Rob Plato Photography. Rob Plato is a professional photographer based out of Fernie, British Columbia, Canada. He has been an avid outdoor and travel photographer for over a decade. In 2005 he attended a full time professional photography diploma program at "Focal Point" in Vancouver. After completing the program he now runs a photography program at "Baldface Cat Skiing" in Nelson, B.C. Canada in the winter months. He's busy shooting weddings, commercial, and outdoor/travel images the rest of the year. Rob's work has been published in various newspapers and magazines and he's done assignment work like shooting the "Whistler Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival" and catalogues for companies like "Jack Wolfskin" clothing. He is always shooting to build a stock base of images available for all uses and can be available on an assignment basis for commercial, editorial, event or of course outdoor assignments.

We had a great day in the sun on Tuesday shooting around the T.H.C shoots and in the Lost Boys pass area. Attached are some shots from the day. It was a bit more a challenge for me as for some reason right now my camera only shoots at 2.8 aperature. This limits your oprtions as you only have a narrow depth of field to play with. A small number equals a big hole wich equals more light wich also means a thinner band of focus.

WOW ! , For those of you who are skiers living in Fernie this year, in particular those who were skiing today. You know what I meen. Yesterday and today were incredibly good skiing. I was out at Powder Cowboy yesterday on a free day and it was for lack of a better work amazing ! Today was really good to up at Island Lake were I was working shooting a group that included ski legend Wayne Wong. Some of you may remember Waynes tail riding and mule kicks.

Hi there, I'm back ! After a busy month out at Pow Cow I'm back in town and looking forward to shooting for the rest of the winter. If your interested in ski or snowboard modeling let me know via this website under contact and we'll head out for some shooting. Had a fantastic run today down boardwalk at Powder Cowboy.
