Well, I figured it was time to change my blog though I don't have much new happening. An interesting shoot the other day. I went to get some photos of a waterfall I know of up coal creek. The images of the waterfall itself turned out O.K but what really worked was the detail photos of the stream and suroundings. It interested me to note that during a shoot (much like in everday life) it becomes vital to step back from your objective and look for the so easily missed and unapreciated details to capture your interest. This part of the creative process can enable the true message or meaning to be discovered. Keep your eyes pealed! See first three creek photos in (Fernie) section of the white tag cloud on the right side of this page.
Finally got my Camera back from Nikon for repairs. I had to get used to shooting film again for a while which was actually alot of fun. I like the anticipation of geting film back and seeing what worked and what didn't although it's very expensive to shoot. Then again it's very expensive to stay current in the digital world as well. Either way it's nice to have the workhorse d2x back and am looking forward to the fall colors to appear.
Another great event out in Salmo at the tenth anual Shambhala music festival. Over 10 thousand people attended again this year, the stages were louder and brighter than ever. All togther an awsome time again other than my camera breakng down for the first time since I purchased the nikon d2x a couple of years ago. The shutter broke on the second night unfortunatly so I didn't get as many shots as I'd hoped but also had the backup film f5 so maybe a few more keepers.
